Quarterly report
The FHFA house price index, quarter by quarter
Each time the Federal Housing Finance Agency publishes its all-transactions index, this report reads the whole national picture back out of it: how the typical state is moving, which states and metros are rising fastest and cooling hardest, and where prices sit against their own long-run trend. Every figure is an index number or a median over index numbers. The index measures repeat-sales change, not a dollar price.
